The babies have all been adopted, yay! Savannah is now back at the shelter and ready for her forever home. She is so sweet, she likes the occasional snuggle and to have her ears skritched. The rest of the time she's happy to be in the same general area as you, supervising.

The sisters are all at the Saskatoon SPCA and ready to go to their forever homes! Mom Savannah is staying with us for a while to gain some more weight. They are all housetrained and used to having their claws trimmed. Please call the SPCA at 374-7387 if you want to adopt any of these gorgeous girls!

Here are the S Kittens playing. Mom Savannah makes an appearance at the start too. The mewing you hear in the background is Snooch begging her mom for milk. She's over that now.

When we were playing with the kittens yesterday, Snooch started following Savannah around and mewing piteously. Then she tried to get a drink from momma. Savannah discouraged her by gently pushing Snooch away with her feet. Eventually the other kittens noticed and soon Savannah was feeding three of them, everyone purring happily away.

They're five weeks old now! They are all happily eating on their own! I guess sometimes it's just nice to bond with mom again.

Saffy was a bit shy at first, but now she's brave and is the biggest kitten with the roundest tummy! Snooch tends to be the most cautious kitten, especially around new toys. She will look at the toy from far away and then bat at the air in its direction. Too cute.

The babies are coming toddling out to see us now when we come into the room! Their cuteness levels continue to rise every day. Little Squirt's fur has grown so she looks less like a baby bird. She is going to have such sleek short fur.

Babies with names

The babies have been gaining weight daily, although a couple of them did stay around the same weight for three days, which worried us a bit. Nobody lost weight though, and the kittens that weren't gaining had round bellies and weren't interested in extra milk, so it must just have been how they want to grow!

We have named them all now.

As before, this is Mom, Savannah.

Here is Snooch! (Although Snooch is a female kitten, we still named her after Snooch because she's mostly gray. )

Meet Skittles, the brightest rainbow of fruit flavours of all the kittens!

Apparently we're boring Saffy…

Hey, we had a weekend off, that's enough of a break during kitten season…

Here come the S kittens!

First, gorgeous (and very skinny) momma cat Savannah:

She is a serious sweetie, and finds it hard to decide which she wants most: hoomin pettins, food, or to be with her babies!

Babies! One is all "OMG STRANGER DANGER!" Meanwhile, the one non-dilute torti is "Hey, hi there." Her name is now Skittles.

Well, for a moment anyway. Kittens at this age spend 90% of their time sleeping. Apparently Skittles is on watch duty. "Ooo, fingers!'

Kittens and Ripley up for adoption!

Today Ripley and her babies went to the shelter, and are all available for adoption!

Ripley is so gorgeous. She is a very mellow and sweet cat. She still has a playful side, as she's a young cat.

Rascal's eyes are looking like they almost might be blue, she is so beautiful!

Ringo is mellow like his mom. Here he is cleaning his cute little face!

Riker is still the smallest, and it's so cool how you can see his tabby stripes if you look really closely. Reba is just plain cute.

Can you tell we just brought them some food? NOM!

Rex was feeling a bit ill last week, but he got over his tummy upset and is once again loudly proclaiming that he should be the first one to eat. He is such a talkative little dude!

Don't be sad Ripley, it's time for your babies to go make their way in the world and find their own forever homes!

"WILL THERE BE NOMS THERE?"

Yes, Reba. Your new family will give you lots of noms.

Kittens growing and cute

The kittens are just growing so quickly! We had to trim nails again yesterday, and they were pretty good about it. I was amazed at how calm the momma, Ripley, was. She was sitting beside me on the futon and I just hugged her with my left arm and took her paw in my left hand, and clipped with my right. She totally just sat there like “Mmmm, spa.”

They all love to wrestle with us and each other. Here’s Rascal looking helpless, which is just part of her evil plan to take over the world.

“MEW HAA HAA HAA HAA!”

Meanwhile, Ringo is more of a “Dude… wait… what?” kind of kitten. He’d probably be Rascal’s much oppressed sidekick.

Speaking of momma Ripley, have I mentioned lately how gorgeous her eyes are? They are green on the inside, graduating to golden yellow on the outside. So beautiful!
