Services
The Saskatoon SPCA offers a number of programs to both the pet population and the citizens of Saskatoon and area.
- Investigation and rescue servcies are provided by Animal Protection Officers, under the Animal Protection Act.
- Perhaps our most well known service is the adoption program, finding safe, happy, permanent homes for the animals in our care.
- Lost and found services is an important service, reuniting hundreds of animals with their owners every year.
- helps to better the community, both pet owners and non-pet owners alike.
- Our volunteer program helps connect our shelter to our community, creating opportunities for giving members of the public to be a part of the good we do, while providing them the chance to connect with loving animals.
- The Saskatoon SPCA also offers a pet safe keeping, to those in crisis situations. The reasons for an animal being placed into pet safe keeping may vary, from the owner's house being destroyed in a fire, to holding the animals while a spouse leaves an abusive situation. This service is offered only to those in unavoidable circumstances, and is free of charge.
- Another service offered to the pet owners of Saskatoon is euthanasia services. This service is offered only to those whose animals have clear reasons as to why they require euthanasia, such as obvious sickness or aggression. While the decision to euthanize can be hard to make, you can at the very least rest easy knowing that the Saskatoon SPCA employs very humane methods of euthanasia, and you have in fact performed a final act of kindness for your pet.
