Dear SPCA:
On June 23rd, 2006 I had to make the biggest decision of my life all by myself. I had to put my little dog, Tuffy, to sleep. He was my companion and best friend for 15-1/2 years. He was a cross of Lhasa Apso and Silk Terrier. He thought he was a German Sheppard in disguise; he guarded me in that manner.
My very loving sister and brother-in-law from Edmonton sent me a beautiful card and a cheque for $20.00 to buy a rose or special lily (which I grow) in memory of Tuffy (he is buried in my yard). After a lot of thought I remember hearing on CJWW a request for food for the animals in your shelter. I’m a dog lover and she’s a cat lover. We both fed and took care of our pets very well. I talked to her and we decided I will match her money to buy food for the dogs and cats in the Shelter in memory of Tuffy.
Please accept this cheque for food for animals that weren’t as lucky as our pets.
If I was younger, you can be sure I would take on another pet.
With great regards for all you do,
Respectfully yours,
Shirley Halldorson.
