SASKATOON, SK, December 5, 2014– Saskatoon SPCA Over Capacity for Cats – Running “Cats for Christmas” Adoptions Event

Full to over-capacity with adorable, cuddly cats, the Saskatoon SPCA is holding a special adoptions promotion to get their felines into loving homes for the holidays.  The first hundred adopters will receive a 100 dollar reduction in cat adoption fees.

“The Saskatoon SPCA pours a great deal of love and care and value into each of the cats they adopt out,” says executive director, Patricia Cameron. “The usual adoption fee is 190 dollars but the value of the adoption is actually more than 500 dollars and includes spay neuter, vaccinations, a microchip for permanent identification, a free month of pet insurance, and a free post-adoption wellness visit with participating veterinary clinics.”

While we normally see an influx of kittens and strays in the springtime at the shelter, there has been no decline this fall/winter in the amount of felines coming through our doors. “This is a great time to find a beautiful furry friend and make them part of your family for the holiday season, “ says Cameron.  “By adopting now, you will be giving an animal in need the best Christmas present of all-- a loving home for the holidays.”

People interested in adopting a Christmas kitty can fill out an adoption application by going to or by coming into the shelter at 5028 Clarence Avenue South and filling out an application profile in person.   Only the first 100 adopters will receive the special reduced adoption fee, which is 47 percent off of the regular adoption fee.
