COVID-19 and Shelter Operations

At this time, the shelter has been closed to the general public to protect our staff who provide care to animals in need. Lost & Found and Animal Protection services are operating as normal and animals are being accepted on an emergency basis only.

If you have found a cat, please read on to learn more about our current intake procedures.

Emergency Intake Procedure

It is our goal to balance the health and safety of our staff with our mission to improve the quality of life for companion animals in our community. Every animal brought into the shelter increases the incidence of human-to-human contact and the potential to spread COVID-19, therefore we are accepting animals on an emergency basis only and asking for your support to help care for the stray cat population at this time.

If you see a stray animal, call Saskatoon Animal Control Agency at 306 385 PETS and they will pick up the animal if it is safe to do so. If you see an animal in distress, call us at 306 374 PETS and an Animal Protection Officer will attend to the concern.

Finally, please ensure your pets are spayed/neutered, licensed with the City of Saskatoon, and remain on your property at all times. Fines for failure to license start at $250 and fines for animals running at large start at $100.

Thank you for your cooperation & stay safe, Saskatoon! We're all in this together.
